Huntsville, AL – A Huntsville man has been charged with negligent vehicular homicide and assault in a two-car collision that killed three adults and one child this Memorial Day weekend. The Friday night crash killed Lisa Nadine Cartwright, her daughter, Pamela, her 18-month-old grandson, and family friend Eria Jackson. Cartwright's niece, Jalesa, survived and was listed in serious but stable condition at Huntsville Hospital. The four others died when their car was hit just before 10 p.m. Police identified the other driver as Rufo Martinez of Huntsville. He was not seriously injured, but two passengers riding with him were treated at the hospital. Police say Martinez ran through a stop sign. He's now charged with four counts of negligent vehicular homicide and one count of first-degree assault. Madison County Coroner Bobby Berryhill says no one in the Cartwright vehicle was wearing a seat belt.
