Former Crematory Operator Sentenced

By Alabama Public Radio

Cleveland, TN – A Tennessee judge Friday sentenced former Tri-State Crematory operator Ray Brent Marsh to 12 years in prison. Marsh apologized after listening to some family members of the 334 people whose bodies were found on the crematory grounds in Noble, Georgia. The Tri-State Crematory once served funeral homes in Alabama, Tennessee and Georgia. Marsh's sentence is not quite complete. A judge in Georgia must also accept the plea bargain, which calls for a long probationary period after Marsh is released from prison. He would be eligible for parole in four years.
