Montgomery, AL – First Lady Patsy Riley has started handing out blankets to charitable organizations across the state. She says about 11-hundred blankets were collected last month for her first "Blankets with a Blessing" effort. The blankets have a written blessing attached to them. The first ones were given to the Family Sunshine Center in Montgomery. During the next few weeks, blankets will be given to 30 shelters in Birmingham, Huntsville, Mobile, Dothan, Ozark, Florence and Gadsden.
