Federal Grand Jury Questions Richardson

By Alabama Public Radio

Montgomery, AL – A federal grand jury investigating government corruption is scheduled to meet again Thursday morning. The grand jury has been meeting periodically since June 2004. Former state school superintendent Ed Richardson was questioned Wednesday in Montgomery. Richardson is now the president of Auburn University. He says he was questioned about Trillion Digital Communications. That's a Bessemer company that was the front-runner to get a state contract in 2001 to connect all public schools to the Internet. The Don Siegelman administration dropped the project.
