Mobile, AL – Alabama will know Wednesday whether it will win a major international aircraft manufacturing facility. European Aeronautic Defence and Space is the parent company of Airbus. It will announce Wednesday where it will build a 600 million dollar plant. Mobile is competing with sites in South Carolina, Florida and Mississippi. The plant could create one-thousand jobs. Governor Bob Riley, and several other representatives, including a couple of Alabama congressmen, have been promoting Mobile. They even traveled to France recently to court the company.
