Democratic Delegates Consider Candidates

By Alabama Public Radio

Montgomery, AL – Alabama's seven super-delegates to the Democratic National Convention are not yet firmly supporting any one candidate. But some of them are talking about who they like -- or don't like -- so far. Democratic Party committee member Amy Burks of Decatur says she'll probably vote for former Vermont Governor Howard Dean, who's considered to be the Democratic Party's front-runner. But, she says she'll support any candidate who can beat President Bush. Another delegate promises Dean is the one candidate he will not support. State Representative Alvin Holmes says he's considering supporting U-S Senator Joseph Lieberman. The Democratic National Convention will be held next summer in Boston.
