Memphis, TN – The defense will begin presenting its case Friday in the federal bribery and money laundering trial of Memphis businessman Logan Young. Young is accused of paying former high school football coach Lynn Lang $150,000 to steer player Albert Means to the University of Alabama. Prosecutors Thursday used telephone and bank records to conclude their case. Lang, meanwhile, told the jury other colleges and universities also promised him money or jobs in exchange for Means signing. Those other colleges included Arkansas, Georgia, Kentucky, Ole Miss and Tennessee. Lang did plead guilty to racketeering conspiracy in 2002. He is awaiting sentencing on that charge. Means played for the Crimson Tide for one season before he transferred to Memphis. He has completed his football eligibility and expects to graduate in May.
