CT AG Complains About AL Fireworks

By Alabama Public Radio

Hartford, CT – The attorney general in Connecticut says Wal-Mart is selling illegal fireworks in some of its stores. Richard Blumenthal says he has sent a letter to Wal-Mart and to its fireworks' distributor, TNT Fireworks of Alabama. Blumenthal says he wants an item called Piccolo Petes off of store shelves. Blumenthal says that item emits a five-inch flame when it's lit. TNT, meanwhile, says Piccolo Petes are sprinklers under Connecticut law and have been sold in that state for years. TNT also says the product contains less than 100 grams of pyrotechnic composition.
