Nearly fifty years after Bloody Sunday Congressman John Lewis says that day is still clear in his mind. He and other civil rights marchers tried to cross the Edmund Pettus Bridge in Selma as part of the voting rights march in 1965. It was one of the defining moments of the fight for civil rights. Lewis says they were beaten, tear gassed, trampled and chased by men on horseback. Lewis is portrayed by the actor Stephan James in the upcoming historical drama "Selma". The Congressman says He's seen the film, and said it's "very powerful." Lewis also says the film's release is very timely, on the heels of protests in Ferguson, Missouri, New York City, and elsewhere.
