Cities Hold Municipal Elections This Week

Montgomery, AL – Cities across Alabama will hold municipal elections Tuesday. Hoover Mayor Barbara McCollum faces five challengers. Meanwhile...seven candidates want to unseat Huntsville mayor Loretta Spencer. Selma voters will decide whether to re-elect the city's first black mayor, James Perkins. He faces three challengers. Also, longtime Gulf Shores Mayor David Bodenhamer is leaving office after 16 years. Six candidates are vying for his seat. Meanwhile...in Alabaster there are allegations of intimidation. Incumbent Mayor David Frings says he found a bullet hole in his office and a knife in place of a stolen campaign sign. Frings is being challenged by two candidates.
