Browns Ferry Security Workers Will Begin Talks

By Alabama Public Radio

Athens, AL – Contract talks are expected to begin this month between security officers at a T-V-A nuclear plant and Pinkerton Government Services. The security officers at the Browns Ferry Nuclear Plant in Athens say they're being paid less than other Pinkerton nuclear security guards. Based on a comparison of security contracts at two other plants, the officers at Browns Ferry earn about four-dollars an hour less. The previous contract expired last month and a new proposal was unanimously rejected. Negotiations are set to begin next week.
