Birmingham Federal Court Goes Digital

By Alabama Public Radio

Birmingham, AL – The federal court in Birmingham is now requiring all attorneys to file documents over the Internet. Officials in the Northern District of Alabama say they'll now be connected with federal courts across the country. Deputy clerk Sharon Harris says the move also gives registered lawyers access to a virtual courthouse and lets them file documents 24 hours a day, seven days a week. The registered attorneys will have to have a login and password. They'll also receive an e-mail notice of activity in their cases.
