Alleged Deserter Arrested in Mobile

By Alabama Public Radio

Mobile, AL – Police have arrested an alleged deserter in Mobile. Joshua Emmanuel Hoffman was arrested Monday morning. Authorities say the 20-year-old allegedly deserted from the Marine Corps. Police were also looking for his brother, John Hoffman. He was also wanted as an alleged deserter. But police later found that John was already locked up in a Marine Corps brig in North Carolina. No information was immediately available about where Joshua was based or why he allegedly deserted. Military officials say they'll interview him in the Mobile County Metro Jail then decide on the next best course of action.
