Alabama man accused in investment scheme

NASHVILLE, Tenn. (AP) — An Alabama man has been charged with selling a couple investments he wasn't licensed to offer. The Tennessee Bureau of Investigation arrested 32-year-old Roy Allen Tucker of Florence, Alabama, on Friday. Prosecutors say Tucker sold a Wayne County couple Certificates of Deposit in April 2013, but lacked the license to do so. Agents also say Tucker, doing business as Tri State Investments, never invested the victims' money. Tucker later returned $100,000 of the couple's money. Prosecutors say he hasn't paid back a remaining balance of more than $164,000. Tucker was booked into the Wayne County Jail, where his bond amount will be determined at a later date. Jail records did not list an attorney for Tucker.
