Accountant Testifies Again in Scrushy Trial

By Alabama Public Radio

Birmingham, AL – An accountant who has investigated fraud at major corporations testified again Monday in the trial of former HealthSouth C-E-O Richard Scrushy. Harvey Kelly said he has not seen documents that link Scrushy to massive fraud at the company. He says he has not seen e-mails, faxes, or memos indicating Scrushy knew about the fraud. He also testified that any corporate C-E-O must rely on the people below him for accounting work. Kelly testified last week for the prosecution but made Monday's comments under cross examination by a defense lawyer. Kelly has also investigated fraud at Worldcom and Adelphia.
