By Alabama Public Radio

Anniston, AL – A 16-year-old boy from Anniston was killed Monday afternoon while playing on a railroad track. Oxford Police Lieutenant Bill Partridge identified the victim as Jordan Todd Stansell. Partridge says Stansell and another teenager were playing on an embankment overlooking the railroad tracks. Stansell apparently jumped down on the tracks and was hit by a Norfolk Southern train. Partridge also serves as the Calhoun County Coroner. He says Stansell died of blunt force trauma. The accident happened just after 2 p.m.
